"The Sustainable Livelihood of Tribal People In Attappady"
It is the responsibility of all Indian citizens to spread the merits of Ayurveda and Yoga, which was handed over into posterity from the time immemorial i.e. from the inception of Vedas,
Rishis and Acharyas which was a dominant part of our culture. It is necessary to propagandize the concept of Yoga and Ayurveda in this era. Fortunately, United Nations Organizations has initiated to spread the concerns for Yoga and Ayurveda worldwide. As a part of this, the practices of Yoga and Ayurveda are well received by people all over the world. Its fruitful impact has enriched India massively. But the problem arises when in India such ideas are hindered by these Ayurveda pharmaceutical industries. These firms are facing scarcity of raw materials from the country which has resulted in an increase in the cost of Ayurvedic Medicines and Products. To tackle this issue of cost hike in Ayurvedic Medicine and Products, HRDS INDIA is garnering an initiative - Project ‘Karshaka’, for the promotion of medicinal plants in the country. HRDS INDIA believes that it is an efficient way to address such a contesting problem. This project will accelerate the availability of high quality raw materials for the Ayurvedic Product Market, and can also convert plain lands of Tribal people into Agricultural land.
Through this HRDS INDIA can ensure a minimum income for the local tribes and will eventually make a noticeable change in their lives too. The Project Karshaka will also help to bring the oppressed and marginalized Tribal People into the main stream of the society. The major Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Industries in India; Patanjali, Himalaya, Dabur etc. has offered their full support and cooperation to HRDS INDIA for the implementation of Karshaka Project.

The term “woman” portrays a picture of oppressed social gender, is not always given due recognition in the society. Her portrayal has been more akin to a secondary subject after men, choking her dignity. The plight of poverty-stricken women is even worse and remains inadequately unacknowledged. The inception of the women empowerment project - Jwalamukhi project is in the light of these prevailing issues only, assisting these deprived women through the formation of SHG (Self Help Group). They will work together and run some small-scale business, for instance, managing a canteen or any stitching unit, so on and so forth. In this way, the project will strengthen these women financially and socially who are subject to harsh realities. It’s a collective assignment with acceptance, resolution, endurance and astute devotion for greater attainment of equal status in the society. They have not actively participated in their own emancipation due to rampant illiteracy and the absence of economic independence.
HRDS INDIA has, therefore, decided to address this important issue by empowering women and raising their status socially and economically. Several initiatives are currently underway to empower women through education, cooperative farming, vocational training, savings plans, and entrepreneurial guidance.

Education is important to individual development, social cohesion and economic growth. Education is the fundamental method of social progress and reform, through education society can formulate its own purposes, can organize its own
means and resources, and thus shape itself with definiteness and economy in the direction in which it wishes to move”. Education involves the learning of valuable analytical skills and signals the level of abilities of the workers to employees. Externalities associated with the benefits of education make it essential that the government is engaged in the supply of education. The low level of people from socio-economically disadvantage areas enrolling in higher education means the education system still functions on an unequal basis. This partially reflects the lower levels of investment in primary education by the government.
Scholarships that assist or cover costs of pursuing a higher education provides a number of benefits for recipients. From reducing the financial burden of the rising costs of a college education, to allowing students more time and energy to focus on studies rather than part-time work, scholarships are one piece in the puzzle of what creates a strong foundation for supporting students in their success in pursuing a degree, and furthermore, completing that degree.
The most obvious benefit of scholarships is that they make college more affordable. From this larger, overarching benefit comes many more benefits. As college costs continue to rise, a major deterrent to pursuing, and finishing, a college degree is affordability. Scholarships can give students the financial bump needed to take a leap and enroll in a degree, as well as a boost to morale and a student's confidence in their ability to work toward a better future.
“Transform rural poor youth into an economically independent and globally relevant workforce” The Ministry of Rural Development (MRD) announced the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY)
Antyodaya Diwas, on 25th September 2014. DDU- GKY is a part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), tasked with the dual objectives of adding diversity to the incomes of rural poor families and cater to the career aspirations of rural youth. DDU-GKY is uniquely focused on rural youth between the ages of 15 and 35 years from poor families.
As a part of the Skill India campaign, it plays an instrumental role in supporting the social and economic programs of the government like the Make In India, Digital India, Smart Cities and Start-Up India, Stand-Up India campaigns. Over 180 million or 69% of the country’s youth population between the ages of 18 and 34 years, live in its rural areas. Of these, the bottom of the pyramid youth from poor families with no or marginal employment number about 55 million. The National Policy for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship 2015 has identified a skills gap of 109.73 million in 24 key sectors by the year 2022. This number cannot be achieved without addressing the BoP 55 million from rural India. Also, a FICCI and Ernst – Young study published in 2013 identified a shortage of over 47 million skilled workers across the globe by 2020. This presents an unprecedented opportunity for India to train its BoP youth population and place them in jobs across the world and realize its demographic dividend.
With traditional medicine taking a back seat, the coming of Niramaya project (Traditional Indian Medicine Research) on surface by HRDS INDIA is a highly beneficial venture. Based on conventional drug therapy, this project
rooted in Attappady would advance the treatment of intense sicknesses. This is an essentially important step to foster a healthy society as it renews the scope of our age-old traditional medicines through its herbal and organic remedies. There are ‘n’ number of profits that one can reap with this project setup. Its affordability and cost effectiveness make it a preferable choice as compared to the usual practice of prescription-based medicine consumption. It has no side effects and is easier to obtain which reinforces natural healing. The pros of installation of such a project not only develops the anatomical stature of people but is also a symbol of ancestral progression for the betterment of the society.
